Installation, De-Gassers
Another area Monolithic Refractories Ltd has considerable experience in is the maintenance of De-Gassers at the BOS Plant, Port Talbot Steel Works. We have a maintenance team and supervisor based at the BOS Plant to undertake work as and when required by the customer.
General maintenance of the De-Gassers involves the wrecking and replacing of the hearth lining and also wrecking and patching or replacing of the Lower Working Side Wall linings as and when necessary. On a roughly annual basis the entire Refractory Lining is wrecked and re-bricked.
Also the team wreck and re-brick the Refractory Lining of the De-Gasser Offtakes and wreck and cast the lining inside ladle lids. All jobs undertaken at the BOS Plant require co-ordination between Monolithic Refractories, TATA and other contractors.
